This zoo has so much to offer for families with young children. New in 2008 is a brand new splash park!!! Shaded seating for parents and grandparents, while the kids have a blast in the tumbling buckets and squirting hippo and frog! Bravo to the zoo, for making this zoo even better than it was before.
Another wonderful discovery this trip, was a bee hive display with real bees inside and making honey, feeding their young, and doing the bee dance telling all the other bees where to find the freshest flowers! Amazing! I have been searching around for a visible bee hive to show Bryan, and I found this educational exhibit!
This zoo also features a miniature train that runs on a miniature track around the parking lot and through the woods. It was fun!
Oh yes, animals you say? Lots of animals! They also have a children's feeding area where you can feed a llama, goat, bull, turkey and sheep some food, purchased in the gift shop.
There are boardwalks throughout the zoo, and improvements are ongoing. I thought that the food in the cafe' was very reasonable! $2.50 for a hot dog, and $.75 for a cup of ice cream.
Lots of fun and plenty of adventure to be had at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens!
